Cyclone in Bay of Bengal to trigger unseasonal rain across North India

A developing cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring significant weather changes across multiple Indian states. Meteorological models indicate that a low-pressure area will likely intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 26, moving toward the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha.

In Uttar Pradesh, while the weather is expected to remain clear for the next three days, a major shift is forecasted to begin around October 28. Eastern districts, including Sonbhadra, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Chandauli, have been placed under a yellow alert for heavy unseasonal rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. This shift is expected to bring a drop in temperature but poses potential risks to standing crops.

Broadly, the weather system is expected to impact approximately 20 states, including Delhi, Bihar, and Jharkhand. In the Delhi-NCR region, light rain and winds of 20 to 30 km/h are possible. In the Bay of Bengal, wind speeds could reach 50 to 70 km/h as the system intensifies.
