Cyclone Project completes environmental cleanups in Greece

The Cyclone Project, an initiative by the Athanasios K. Laskaris Charitable Foundation, has completed an extensive environmental cleanup program across three Greek prefectures: Argolis, Messenia, and Phocis. The project targeted more than 753 locations, including road networks, rivers, lakes, and 62 archaeological sites.

In Argolis, teams cleared 331 points, collecting over 1.17 million kilograms of waste and removing more than 1.7 million individual pieces of debris. In Messenia, the project addressed 265 sites across five municipalities, removing 456,450 kilograms of waste.

The initiative utilized specialized operational teams equipped with dedicated vehicles to reach areas often overlooked by municipal or regional services. The program also integrated community involvement, including 321 volunteers, 40 soldiers, and 2,181 students from 22 schools, who participated in both cleaning activities and environmental awareness initiatives.
