Cyclone RT250 enters competitive Chinese 250cc scooter market
The 250cc scooter market in China is experiencing intense competition as manufacturers attempt to balance advanced features with accessible pricing. The Cyclone RT250 has emerged as a significant competitor in this segment.
Launched in late August 2025, the RT250 sports version is priced at 14,999 yuan (approximately 58.2 million VND), while the Zhijing version is priced at 16,999 yuan (approximately 65.9 million VND). This positioning allows it to compete against models like the Voge SR250GT, starting at 15,980 yuan, and the QJMOTOR Hong 250, priced near 18,000 yuan.
Key technical specifications of the RT250 include a 247cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing a maximum power of 19.5kW. The scooter features a wet weight of 171kg, which is roughly 30kg lighter than some competitors, and a seat height of 750mm. It is equipped with ABS, TCS, and millimeter-wave radar technology, with the engine tuned to prioritize low-end torque for urban environments.
