Cyera raises $400 million to secure AI agent data access

Cyera, a cybersecurity startup, has raised $400 million in a Series G extension led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives. The funding brings the company to a post-money valuation of nearly $2 billion.

The investment targets the growing security risks associated with AI agents in enterprise environments. Unlike human employees, AI agents often lack the discretion to limit data access to what is operationally necessary, frequently accessing sensitive customer records, financial documents, and legal contracts simply because they have the technical permissions to do so.

Cyera’s platform is designed to enforce granular access controls specifically for AI agents, monitoring for violations in real time to ensure that machines and people only access the data required for their specific tasks.
