Cyfrowy Polsat announces strategy to reduce debt through asset sales
Cyfrowy Polsat has unveiled a new strategic plan aimed at reducing its significant debt, which has been managed for over fifteen years following the acquisition of Polkomtel. The group intends to focus on its core media and telecommunications segments by divesting assets in the green energy and real estate sectors.
Key planned divestments include the sale of PAK Polska Czysta Energia and its subsidiaries, as well as real estate holdings such as the Port Praski complex in Warsaw. The company is working with UniCredit Group for the green energy segment and Erste Bank for the real estate division.
The group aims to lower its net debt to EBITDA ratio to below 2.5x by 2030. This restructuring is intended to create a simpler corporate structure and stronger financial foundations, ultimately allowing the group to rebuild its capacity for dividend payments.
