Cynthia Aramayo appointed Vice Minister of Telecommunications in Bolivia

Cynthia Aramayo Aguilar has been sworn in as Bolivia’s Vice Minister of Telecommunications. The appointment, made by Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing Mauricio Zamora, aims to strengthen the country’s technological development and digital connectivity.

Aramayo is a lawyer with a master’s degree in Corporate and Business Law from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. She brings over 37 years of professional experience, having previously served in the private sector, banking, and logistics. Notably, she was the first woman in Bolivia and the second in Latin America to lead a railway company as the General Manager of Empresa Ferroviaria Andina S. A.

In her inaugural remarks, Aramayo emphasized a commitment to transparency, respect, and teamwork. She described the transition into the telecommunications sector as an “exciting challenge” and intends to apply her extensive regulatory and management background to modernize the nation's digital infrastructure.
