Cynthia Erivo stars in ‘Prima Facie’ film trailer

Sony Pictures UK has released the official trailer for ‘Prima Facie’, a crime drama starring Cynthia Erivo. The film is an adaptation of Suzie Miller’s Tony Award-winning one-woman play.

Directed by Susanna White, the story follows Tessa, an ambitious defense barrister who has built a successful career representing men accused of sexual assault. Her worldview is upended when she becomes a victim of sexual assault herself, forcing her to navigate the complexities and potential failures of the legal system from the perspective of an accuser.

Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the film is scheduled for theatrical release in the United Kingdom and Ireland on November 13, 2026. The supporting cast includes Daniel Ings, Simon Russell Beale, and Elizabeth Dulau.
