Cynthia Rossetti sworn in as Lanús councilwoman

Cynthia Rossetti has officially sworn in as a councilwoman for the Fuerza Patria bloc in the Honorable Concejo Deliberante of Lanús. She assumes the seat previously held by Mailén Cervera Novo, who took a leave of absence to join the Executive Department.

During the legislative session, the council addressed several matters, including a formal recognition of the Argentine National Football Team for their runner-up finish in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The council also declared journalist Daniel Miguez a distinguished resident of Lanús and recognized the new leadership of the Lions International District O5.

Political tensions arose when members of La Libertad Avanza (LLA) submitted a formal request for information regarding public security in the district. Councilman Ignacio Moroni questioned Mayor Julián Álvarez about the distribution of security personnel, mobile unit response times, and the availability of protective equipment such as bulletproof vests, describing the current state of security in the streets as complicated.
