Cyprus Airways' rapid growth drives record passenger traffic in Cyprus
Cyprus Airways was recognised as the fastest‑growing airline in western Europe at the 2.5 Airline Marketing Workshop in Athens, part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of Athens International Airport. The airline highlighted its strong growth trajectory and continued expansion of its route network.
Hermes Airports reported that passenger traffic through Cyprus' two airports, Larnaca and Paphos, has doubled since 2006, reaching 13.7 million travelers in 2025. The surge contributed about 14 % to Cyprus' GDP and generated more than €789 million in revenue, underscoring the economic impact of the aviation sector’s growth.
