Cyprus approves citizenship revocation for 373 investment program links

Cyprus has approved citizenship deprivation proceedings against 373 individuals linked to its terminated investment program. According to recent Interior Ministry figures, this group includes 103 principal investors and 270 dependent relatives.

Despite the high number of approved actions, the administrative process has faced significant delays. Only 116 individuals—comprising 35 investors and 81 relatives—have fully completed the revocation process, which requires the issuance of formal decrees and the cancellation of identity documents. An additional 26 investors remain under investigation.

The discrepancy between approved actions and completed revocations highlights procedural challenges in the post-program cleanup. While the government has moved to strip citizenship from those linked to the investment scheme, the transition from approved deprivation to final administrative completion has proven slow.
