Cyprus marked the 30th anniversary of the killings of Taso Isaac and Solomos Solomou with a major memorial service in Paralimni. The event, attended by President Nikos Christodoulides and various political and religious leaders, included a motorcycle procession and the unveiling of a new monument dedicated to the two men.

President Christodoulides pledged that the Republic of Cyprus would intensify its efforts to execute the 13 national and 5 international arrest warrants issued for the murders. He noted that the warrants remain unexecuted due to the refusal of Turkey and the occupying regime to cooperate with Cypriot authorities.

During the ceremony, Anastasia Isaac, the daughter of Taso Isaac, delivered an emotional speech regarding the loss of her father, who was killed in August 1996 while attempting to help another protester in the Deryneia buffer zone. The killings, which occurred three days apart, remain a significant point of contention in the Cyprus dispute.
