Cyprus Community of NSW expands support for HSC Greek students

The Cyprus Community of NSW has announced an expanded support programme for students undertaking Higher School Certificate (HSC) Greek studies. The initiative includes the launch of the Greek Studies Voucher Programme on 1 October 2026, which will provide financial assistance to eligible Year 11 and Year 12 students studying both Modern and Classical Greek.

Starting in 2027, the Community plans to host an annual NSW HSC Greek Studies Student Conference over a five-year period. This event is intended to facilitate peer connection, exam preparation, and the sharing of educational practices among teachers.

Additionally, two new academic awards will be established: the Stasinus Award for Classical Greek and the Vasilis Michaelides Award for Modern Greek. These awards will recognize high achievement in the HSC and include financial grants and commemorative medals to support further studies.
