Cyprus defeats Armenia 2-0 in Nations League match

Cyprus secured a 2-0 victory against Armenia in a Nations League Group C match held at the GSP Stadium. The win provides Cyprus with its first victory in the current tournament after previously earning a single point from away matches against Montenegro and Latvia.

Konomis opened the scoring in the 19th minute following a corner kick by Edwards that escaped the goalkeeper. Kakoulis doubled the lead in the 31st minute after capitalizing on a pass from Pittas, who exploited a defensive error.

Prior to the match, Cyprus coach Akis Mantzios faced the absence of Sotiriou and Tsaroulla due to yellow card accumulation. The result is significant for the group standings, as Armenia is a direct competitor for one of the top two positions in the group.
