Cyprus digitizes social insurance and pension services
Cyprus is undergoing a digital transformation of its Social Insurance Services to streamline citizen access to benefits and pensions. The initiative was presented by Minister of Labour Marinos Mosiouittas and Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Nikodimos Damianou.
The new digital environment covers several critical life events, including paternity, maternity, childbirth, parental leave, and bereavement allowances. Additionally, the system now allows for electronic applications regarding disability pensions, retirement pensions, disability benefits, and special provisions for individuals with thalassemia.
A central feature of the update is the ‘Insured Person Profile’, which provides citizens with a single point of access to their personal data, applications, and records. Officials noted that the services being digitized are in high demand, with over 40,000 annual applications for the covered benefits.
