Cyprus dispatches 900 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza

A new shipment of 900 tons of humanitarian aid has departed from Cyprus for Gaza as part of the ongoing Amalthea Plan. The cargo consists of medicines, medical equipment, hygiene products, food, and shelter supplies.

The mission is being carried out in close cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the United Arab Emirates, under the oversight mechanism of UN Security Council Resolution 2720. Various international organizations and nations are contributing to the effort, including France, Slovakia, Kuwait, the UNDP, UNFPA, WHO, World Central Kitchen, All Hands and Hearts, and Project Hope.

Cyprus continues to serve as a stable hub for the collection, storage, inspection, and departure of humanitarian aid, which is transported for distribution in Gaza via the port of Ashdod. Since the start of the maritime humanitarian corridor, more than 37,000 tons of aid have been sent and delivered to the civilian population in Gaza.
