Cyprus Education Minister visits Apostolos Loukas Special School

Cyprus Minister of Education Athina Michaelidou visited the Apostolos Loukas Special School in Limassol to inspect new facilities and discuss infrastructure improvements. The Minister expressed satisfaction regarding the installation of a sunshade in the schoolyard and noted that efforts are underway to establish a playground, which requires further technical processing by the Limassol School Board.

Michaelidou also announced that a new bill is being prepared to better regulate public special education. The proposed legislation aims to make the public school system more inclusive and child-centered, providing individualized programs for children with disabilities.

However, Michalis Papadopoulos, President of the Parents' Association, expressed strong dissatisfaction. He criticized the lack of specific timelines for the playground construction and raised safety concerns regarding the sunshade's installation, specifically noting the absence of protective covers on the sunshade poles.
