Cyprus faces fuel crisis as diesel prices exceed 2 euros
Fuel prices in Cyprus have seen a significant increase, with diesel surpassing the 2 euro per liter threshold at certain stations. This represents a 6.2 percent rise in fuel costs over the last two months.
Reports indicate that kerosene has reached record highs. The surge in diesel and kerosene prices is expected to increase transportation and production costs, potentially driving up food inflation.
In response to the rising costs, political entities such as AKEL have called for necessary measures to alleviate the financial burden on households and businesses. Current prices for 95-octane gasoline are reported at 1.68 euros, while 98-octane gasoline stands at 1.74 euros.
