Cyprus: Five defendants face charges in Thanasis Nikolaou case

Five defendants in a private criminal prosecution related to the Thanasis Nikolaou case appeared in court to address preliminary objections. The accused include forensic pathologist Panikos Stavrianos, former Limassol Police Director Andreas Iatropoulos, former Limassol TAE official Nikos Sofokleous, former Ypaithos official Christakis Nathanail, and former Platres police complex official Christakis Kapiliotis.

Defense lawyers argued that the defendants are unable to respond to the charges due to a lack of specific details in the indictment, particularly regarding the exact criminal acts they are accused of covering up.
