Cyprus Football Association holds referee seminar for new season
The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) has launched a three-day referee seminar in Nicosia to prepare officials for the upcoming 2026–2027 football season. The program is scheduled to conclude on Friday, August 21.
Prior to the seminar, a FIFA Fitness Test was conducted on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, to ensure officials meet international physical standards. The seminar participants include international referees, first-division referees and assistants, international female referees, first-division observers, and VAR/AVAR specialists.
The training curriculum consists of both theoretical and practical sessions. Key focus areas include the Laws of the Game, uniform application of decisions, match phase analysis, and the technical use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.
