Cyprus football team begins final preseason camp in Austria

The Cyprus national football team moved from Poland to the Austrian Alps, arriving in the village of Kosen, Tyrol, on Friday night to start the third and final stage of its summer preparation. The camp runs until 13 August, after which the squad will return to Cyprus.

During the stay the team will play three high‑profile friendly matches: on 6 August against Qatar champion Al Sadd, on 9 August against Union Berlin, and a third game on 12 August against an opponent yet to be announced. The first match will be broadcast live in Cyprus on Cytavision Sports 6 at 19:00 local time (18:00 in Austria).

Training sessions combine gym work in the mornings with lengthy field drills in the afternoons, covering ball circulation, rondos, small‑sided games and static phases. Defender Louloumpas, who suffered an ankle injury in the last Polish friendly, received individual treatment and was replaced by Kassiandidis in the lineup. Coach Aris continues to assess the roster to determine the starting eleven and bench options ahead of the new season.
