Cyprus Forest Department issues park regulations and availability updates
The Cyprus Forest Department has issued guidelines and availability updates for national forest parks and recreational areas during the August holiday period.
To ensure safety and environmental protection, visitors to the Athalassas and Pedagogical Academy National Forest Parks must adhere to specific regulations. Prohibited activities include lighting fires for any purpose, such as cooking or using hookahs. Other rules include parking only in designated areas, keeping dogs on leashes on specific paths, and restricting cycling to designated low-speed routes. Additionally, organized events like birthday parties or commercial activities require prior approval from the Department.
Regarding availability, the Department reports that despite increased traffic during the mid-August holidays, spaces remain available in several regions. Available sites include various locations in Paphos, Troodos, Nicosia, Larnaca, and Famagusta, such as Mavralis, Mesa Potamos, and the Rizeliia National Forest Park.
