Cyprus government to launch digital platform for unsafe product monitoring
On Thursday the Cypriot Cabinet approved the creation of a digital platform that will record and publish non‑compliant products identified in the domestic market, based on a proposal from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry. Minister Michalis Damianos said the site will consolidate all relevant information in a single, reliable and user‑friendly location, enabling citizens to quickly learn about products deemed unsafe or recalled.
The platform will be updated in real time by all market‑surveillance authorities and will also use European product‑safety information systems. It is slated to become publicly accessible within the next few months, aiming to increase transparency and strengthen consumer protection.
