Cyprus hosts cultural events featuring traditional music and Aliki Vougiouklaki tribute

A series of cultural events is scheduled across Cyprus for the week of August 17–23.

In Nikokleia, a musical performance titled ‘Musical Dialogues of Tradition’ will take place at the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios. Featuring Michalis and Petros Kouloumis, the performance is based on their album, ‘Historical Musical Recording of the Traditional Dances of Cyprus.’ The event aims to highlight the island's intangible cultural heritage through traditional songs, dances, and improvisations.

Additionally, a tribute performance titled ‘The Brightest Star’ will be held at the Polytypos Cultural Center. The show commemorates 30 years since the passing of Aliki Vougiouklaki, celebrating her enduring legacy in Greek cinema and theater through music, live narration, and audiovisual materials.
