Cyprus President pledges grant to Agios Theodoros Karpasia displaced persons association
Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides has pledged a grant of ten thousand euros to the Agios Theodoros Karpasia Displaced Persons Association. The announcement was made by the Deputy Minister of Migration and International Protection, Nikolas Ioannidis, during an event held in Kellia, Larnaca.
The funding is intended to support the completion of projects involving a church and a monument in Xylotymbou, which serve as sites for community gathering, memory, and unity. During the event, Ioannidis noted that the commemoration comes fifty-two years after the 1974 Turkish invasion, emphasizing the community's enduring connection to their ancestral lands and the importance of preserving history for future generations.
