Cyprus Presidential Palace to open art and antiquity collection to public
The Presidential Palace of Cyprus is launching a new program titled ‘Presidential Palace Open to Citizens,’ allowing the public to view the art and antiquity collection ‘Cyprus: The World, The Place, The Word, The Matter.’ This initiative, spearheaded by First Lady Philippa Kartera Christodoulides, aims to provide citizens access to highly symbolic spaces to foster pride in the nation's cultural heritage.
The exhibition features works by prominent first-generation Cypriot artists, including Adamantios Diamantis, Pol Georgiou, Telemachos Kanthou, and Michail Kassialou. The collection also includes rare ancient artifacts from the Department of Antiquities, such as Cypriot figurines and sculptures dating from the 4th millennium BC to the 1st century BC.
Visitors can also engage with a digital interactive application called ‘Machine of Time,’ developed by the Cyprus Institute’s Virtual Environments Laboratory. The pilot program is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 3, 2026, coinciding with the anniversary of Cyprus' independence. Interested citizens must register through the Ministry of Culture's website, with an initial limit of 150 visitors for the first organized tour.
