Cyprus wages rise 3.7% in Q1 2026, with one‑third earning under €1,500
Provisional figures released by the Cyprus Statistical Service show that average gross monthly earnings in Cyprus increased to €2,601 in the first quarter of 2026, a 3.7 % rise from the same period in 2025. Seasonally adjusted earnings were €2,652, up 0.8 % from the previous quarter.
33.9 % of employees earned less than €1,500 a month, while the largest earnings band (40.9 %) was €1,500‑€2,999. Among women, 37.4 % earned below €1,500 compared with 31.1 % of men. Non‑Cypriot workers were especially affected, with 46.7 % earning under €1,500.
The gender pay gap persisted: average male earnings were €2,776 versus €2,378 for women, a difference of €398. These data highlight both the overall wage growth and the continuing disparity in earnings across gender and nationality groups.
