Cyprus Referees Association condemns pressure from football clubs

The Cyprus Referees Association (S.D.K.) has issued a formal statement expressing concern over recent public criticisms from First Division football clubs and their press offices regarding refereeing decisions.

The Association distinguishes between legitimate, evidence-based criticism aimed at improvement and personal attacks that target the dignity and credibility of individual referees. The S.D.K. asserts that the extreme pressure and constant questioning of officials have exceeded the limits of logic and athletic ethics, negatively impacting the psychological well-being of referees and the overall reputation of the profession.

The Association is calling on the Cyprus Football Association (KOP) to monitor these behaviors and implement disciplinary procedures or refer cases to the Sports Court when boundaries are crossed.
