PASOK criticizes Alexis Tsipras over political reliability
The PASOK political party has launched a sharp critique against former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras following his recent interview on SKAI. PASOK officials accused Tsipras of arrogance, self-admiration, and unreliability, claiming his political stance is inconsistent.
A primary point of contention involves the reinstatement of the 13th pension and 13th salary. PASOK noted that while Tsipras had committed to these measures during the 2023 elections, he now characterizes such promises as “populism” in discussions with the IMF, despite having more fiscal space in 2026 than in previous years.
Party spokesperson Dimitris Mantzos further criticized Tsipras for his perceived absence during critical issues such as the energy crisis and housing crisis over the last three years. Mantzos argued that Tsipras lacks a functional party structure and is instead pursuing a personal political gamble, questioning whether his approach is helpful to the political landscape or merely serves to undermine the current opposition efforts.
