Cyprus roadworks scheduled for major motorways

Scheduled road maintenance and irrigation works will affect several major highways in Cyprus between July 27 and September 30, 2026. The Forestry Department will conduct irrigation activities on the embankments of the Larnaca-Airport, Larnaca-Limassol, Larnaca-Kofinou, Larnaca-Famagusta, and Larnaca-Nicosia motorways. These works are scheduled from Monday to Thursday, between 08:30 and 14:30, involving partial closures of the embankments in 300-meter sections. While these works may affect the roadside, traffic flow is expected to remain unaffected.

Additionally, between September 15 and September 21, 2026, irrigation works will take place on the central median of the highway between the Rizoelea roundabout and the Xylophagou exit. During this period, excluding Fridays and weekends, the right lane will be closed sequentially in 1.5km stretches from 08:30 to 16:00. Traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary road signage.
