Cyprus set for cooler temperatures with rain and thunderstorms this week
A weak low‑pressure system will bring a noticeable drop in temperatures across Cyprus. Inland areas are expected to reach up to 30 °C on Tuesday, while coastal and higher‑elevation zones stay cooler. By Tuesday night, temperatures will fall to around 16 °C inland, 17 °C along the coast and about 10 °C on the higher mountains.
From Wednesday through Friday, scattered cloud cover will give way to localised rain showers and possible thunderstorms, especially over the island’s mountainous regions and the eastern half. Winds will shift from light to moderate, mainly from the southwest to northwest, with gusts reaching 3‑5 Beaufort. Sea conditions will be slightly to moderately rough.
Overall, the forecast predicts a transition from clear, hot conditions to cooler, cloudier weather with intermittent precipitation and occasional strong gusts over the next few days.
