Cyprus to Receive Apostle Paul’s Relic from Vatican in October 2026

The Holy Relic known as the Chair of the Apostle Paul will be transferred from Vatican City to Cyprus in October 2026. The relic is scheduled for a temporary pilgrimage exhibition in the historic city of Paphos during Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus’s official visit to Rome.

Pope Francis has approved the transfer as a gesture of friendship, and the Cypriot Church describes the event as of historic importance. Earlier, the former Metropolitan of Paphos had opposed hosting the Catholic relic, but the archbishop emphasized the significance of Paul’s early missionary work in the area.
