Cyprus Transport Minister Evantheia Tsolaki outlines traffic‑congestion plan

New Cyprus Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Evantheia Tsolaki told the Cyprus Press and Information Office that easing traffic congestion is a top priority of her tenure. She said the ministry will review all proposals on the table, including expanding the Park & Ride service, and will work with other responsible bodies to implement feasible measures.

Tsolaki highlighted ongoing large‑scale projects such as the northern bypass of Limassol, upgrades to the main road network and other strategic infrastructure works. She referenced a recent meeting with former Transport Minister Andreas Bafadi and the Limassol municipality that produced a unified plan for addressing the city’s traffic problems. The minister also indicated she will discuss these issues with the Department of Road Transport and consider measures used in other European countries.
