Cyprus issued yellow weather warning for heavy storms

The Cyprus Meteorological Service has issued a yellow weather warning for the island due to an unstable air mass. The warning, effective from 03:30 on Sunday until 18:00, alerts for isolated heavy storms, potential hail, and gusty winds.

Local rainfall intensity is expected to exceed 35 mm per hour in some areas. Forecasts indicate cloudy conditions with scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly in mountainous and inland regions. Temperatures are expected to reach approximately 27 degrees Celsius in coastal and inland areas, dropping to 17 degrees in higher mountainous zones.

Weather patterns are expected to persist through Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with increased cloud cover and afternoon showers likely in the interior and mountains. Temperatures are projected to see a slight increase toward Wednesday, though remaining slightly below seasonal averages.
