Cyprus weather forecast: Rain and storms expected through Friday

A low-pressure system forming in the Adriatic Sea is moving southeast and is expected to impact Cyprus starting Wednesday afternoon. The Department of Meteorology indicates that while initial conditions involve partial cloudiness and isolated showers, weather conditions will deteriorate over the coming days.

From Wednesday through Friday, the island will experience mostly cloudy skies with intermittent local rain and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the western half of the island and mountainous regions. Temperatures are forecasted to gradually decrease through Thursday, remaining below seasonal averages, before a slight rise on Friday.

Wind conditions are expected to vary, with some periods seeing moderate to strong southwesterly winds reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort. Temperatures in the interior are expected to hover around 30 degrees Celsius initially, dropping as the weather system progresses.
