Cyprus weather warning issued for extreme heat

The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for extreme temperatures in Cyprus. The warning is in effect today from 13:00 to 16:00, as temperatures are expected to reach approximately 40 degrees Celsius in inland areas.

The weather is primarily clear due to seasonal low pressure. Inland areas will face the highest heat, while coastal regions will see temperatures around 32 degrees Celsius in the southwest and 36 degrees elsewhere. Higher mountainous areas will remain around 30 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead to Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear, though increased cloud cover may occur in the afternoons, particularly in mountainous regions. Some isolated rain is possible on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures through Wednesday are expected to remain slightly above climatological averages.
