Cyril and Methodius exhibitions open in Burgas and Budapest

Exhibitions dedicated to the legacy of Saints Cyril and Methodius and the Cyrillic alphabet have opened in Burgas, Bulgaria, and Budapest, Hungary.

The Regional Historical Museum in Burgas launched an exhibition titled ‘Following the Footsteps of the Students: The Cyril and Methodius Route in Bulgaria,’ which is part of the Council of Europe’s European cultural route. Developed by scholars from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the display features early Cyrillic inscriptions, iconography, and historical sites related to the disciples of the brothers. The exhibition was timed to coincide with the Day of the National Awakeners.

In Budapest, the Bulgarian Cultural House hosted the traveling exhibition ‘Together on the Path of Cyril and Methodius.’ This project features 56 artistic panels created by students from Bulgarian schools in Greece, Turkey, Hungary, Czechia, and Italy. The artwork depicts the letters of the Cyrillic and Glagolitic alphabets, aiming to promote Bulgarian literacy and heritage to communities abroad.
