Czarni Antrans Sosnowiec advances to second round of UEFA Women's Champions League qualifiers

Polish women's football club Czarni Antrans Sosnowiec secured a place in the second round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying phase after a 3‑1 victory over Ireland’s Athlone Town in the final of the first‑round mini‑tournament. The win followed a dominant 7‑1 semi‑final triumph over Georgian side WFC Nike Lusso. Goals for Sosnowiec were scored by Patrycja Sarapata (25'), Klaudia Miłek (47') and Zofia Buszewska (58'), while Athlone’s sole reply came from Isabel Ryan in the 81st minute.

The Polish side now moves on to the second‑round group stage, where they will travel to Pafos, Cyprus, to meet Apollon LFC on 5 August. No Polish club has previously progressed to the Champions League group stage, making the achievement a historic milestone for women’s football in Poland.
