Czech 2018 two-koruna coin sells for over 130,000 CZK

A rare 2018 two-koruna coin, originally produced as a sample for foreign central banks, sold for 5,520 euros (approximately 130,000 CZK) at an auction held by Macho Numismatic Galleries in Prague.

While over 37 million standard two-koruna coins were minted in 2018, only 120 specimens of this specific sample version were produced for exchange between the Czech National Bank and more than 100 foreign central banks. The auction, held at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, saw total sales reaching 212 million CZK, including high-value gold ducats and silver thalers.
