Czech academic institutions appoint new leadership

Two Czech academic institutions have announced new leadership appointments.

Tomáš Herčík has been appointed as the new director of the Czech Forestry Academy in Trutnov by the Hradec Králové Regional Council. Herčík, an alumnus and former deputy director, will officially take office on November 1, following the resignation of Miloš Pochobradský in June. His appointment follows a period of administrative scrutiny and a police investigation into the school's finances, which has since been suspended.

At the Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Professor Vladimír Sedlařík has been elected as the new dean of the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management. Sedlařík, a former rector of the university, succeeds Professor Zuzana Tučková. He aims to build upon the faculty's existing developments in logistics, security, and crisis management.
