Wood & Company advances Czech PX index ETF launch

The Prague Stock Exchange announced that investment firm Wood & Company is developing an exchange‑traded fund (ETF) that will track the PX index, the main Czech equity benchmark. The project, confirmed by exchange chief Petr Koblic, aims to give retail investors a single‑click way to invest in the whole Czech market, simplifying portfolio construction and potentially attracting foreign investors. Wood & Company, which holds about half the market share on the Prague exchange, expects to resolve cost and technical challenges and hopes to bring the ETF to market in the fall, possibly by September.

The new fund would join the range of standard European market ETFs, offering exposure to the PX‑TR index, which has tripled over five years and delivers a dividend yield of roughly 4.3 %. Its launch is seen as a significant milestone for the Czech capital market, providing a streamlined investment vehicle for domestic and international investors alike.
