Czech and Slovak architecture awards unveil nominees

The Czech Academy of Architecture (ČCA) presented an award to the city of Hodonín for its work in architectural competitions. Mayor Libor Střecha and city architect Ondřej Stolařík received the prize at the Czech Architecture Awards ceremony in Prague on 16 June. The accolade highlighted Hodonín’s 2025 project "Břehy Staré Moravy" and noted a record 72 competitions held that year.

The Slovak Chamber of Architects announced the shortlist for the 25th CE ZA AR award. From 83 submissions, 21 finalists were selected across six categories, including a renovated school in Trnava, the first phase of the new Vydrica quarter near Bratislava Castle, a refurbished workers’ hostel in Košice, an ice‑cream shop in Nová Dubnica, and a new theatre in Poprad. An international jury from Slovakia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria made the selections. The winners will be revealed at a gala in Bratislava’s Old Market Hall in early October.
