Czech and Slovak authorities plan Lanžhot-Brodské bridge reconstruction
Czech and Slovak road administrators have reached an agreement regarding the reconstruction of a bridge on road II/425 between Lanžhot and Brodské. The Czech side, represented by the Road Administration and Maintenance of the South Moravian Region, has already obtained a building permit and is finalizing project documentation. The Slovak side is expected to receive its permit in October.
The two parties will jointly select a contractor, with the Czech side leading the procurement process to navigate differing legislations, currencies, and VAT requirements. The reconstruction is estimated to cost 205 million CZK and is planned to begin in 2027. The bridge has been closed since January of last year due to its emergency condition following previous floods.
