Czech and Slovak experts discuss hydrogen energy scaling
Experts from the Czech Republic and Slovakia discussed the transition of the hydrogen sector from isolated projects toward integrated, economically sustainable value chains. During a joint workshop, representatives from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Slovak Ministry of Economy noted that the industry faces challenges with high costs and difficulties in scaling production.
Participants suggested that overly strict European regulations may be hindering the hydrogen ecosystem. Experts argued that easing these rules could help lower technology costs and facilitate the development of production, transport, and storage infrastructure. The discussion emphasized the need for a shift toward solutions where production and consumption are more closely linked to ensure economic viability.
