Czech and Slovak police issue alerts on suspect identification and SMS fraud

The police in Roudnice, Czech Republic, are asking the public to help identify a man shown in a photograph. The individual may be crucial to solving a property‑related crime under investigation. Police spokesperson Pavla Kofrová said the man himself can also come forward, and urged anyone with information to call the free line 158.

In Slovakia, police have issued an urgent warning about fraudulent SMS messages that claim to be from traffic police and demand payment of supposed fines via a link. Officers emphasized that official fines are never sent by SMS and warned against clicking unknown links, providing personal data, or making payments. Anyone who has already responded is advised to contact their bank and report the incident to the police.
