Czech architectural projects highlight luxury villas and compact urban living

Recent architectural developments in the Czech Republic highlight diverse approaches to residential living, ranging from luxury villa renovations to compact urban apartment design.

A villa in the Barrandov district of Prague has undergone a complete reconstruction to offer a blend of modern comfort and a cinematic atmosphere. Located in the Hlubočepy area, the property features four air-conditioned bedrooms capable of accommodating up to twenty guests. The renovated space includes a wellness area, a swimming pool, a wine cellar, and a rooftop terrace. Designed for short-term group rentals, the home utilizes projectors to create a home cinema experience and features large social spaces that connect the interior with a private garden.

In Brno, architects Denisa and David Korsá of Korsa Studio have designed a 28-square-meter apartment that emphasizes multifunctional use of space. The project, which was a finalist in the Interiér roku competition, features an industrial character achieved by leaving concrete structures exposed. To maximize the small footprint, the designers utilized mirrors to reflect light and create an illusion of depth, along with floor-to-ceiling curtains to emphasize ceiling height. The layout integrates a custom bed with storage, a bar counter that replaces a traditional dining table, and a kitchen area designed to blend seamlessly into the living space.
