Czech athletes Nikola Ogrodníková and Eva Adamczyková speak on motherhood and competition

Javelin thrower Nikola Ogrodníková returned to competition after giving birth to her son Jáchym, saying she is eager to represent the Czech Republic at the European Championships in Birmingham and aims for a performance around the 60‑metre mark. She is working on technique and recovering from a recent illness ahead of the event.

Olympic snowboard champion Eva Adamczyková, mother of 1½‑year‑old Kryštof with actor Marek Adamczyk, said she does not intend to push her son into elite sport. She emphasised that children should move naturally and choose their own path, even though she herself began skiing at age two in the Krkonoše mountains.
