Czech Republic and Slovakia weekend events August 7‑9 2026
A wide range of cultural, sporting and community events are scheduled across the Czech Republic and neighbouring Slovakia from 7 to 9 August 2026.
In the Czech lands, the travelling music‑culture festival Hrady CZ will stage concerts at Veveří Castle in Brno on Friday and Saturday, featuring acts such as Daniel Landa, Mirai, Rybičky 48 and Tomáš Klus, alongside a castle‑tour ticket option. Other regional programmes include the Znojmo cucumber festival, the Letovice castle food festival, a night run in Most, a medieval‑themed day at Trenčiansky hrad in Trenčín, and a series of local fairs and concerts in towns such as Hranice, Orlová, Boskovice and Žerotice. A pre‑season ice‑hockey match saw HC Dukla Jihlava defeat HC Tábor 5‑2 in Tábor.
In Šlapanice, municipal offices continue repairs after water‑pipe damage, with work on the third floor nearing completion and plans to finish the building before upcoming city celebrations. Meanwhile, the Slovak city of Trenčín will host free concerts by Jerguš Oravec and Barbora Piešová, a medieval‑craft showcase at the castle, and a film screening with discussion on cultural identity.
These events offer residents and visitors a mix of music, food, sport and heritage activities throughout the long weekend.
