Czech basketball team defeats Norway in EuroBasket pre-qualifiers

The Czech national basketball team secured its first victory in the EuroBasket pre-qualification group with a 108:97 overtime win against Norway in Prague. Captain Martin Peterka led the team with 22 points, helping to overcome a significant deficit after the Czechs surrendered a 17-point halftime lead.

The victory was secured following a critical three-pointer by Richard Bálint that tied the game at 90:90 with only 7.7 seconds remaining in regulation. The team maintained their momentum through overtime to stay competitive in the group.

The match also marked the retirement of veteran center Kříž from the national team. After playing 16 minutes and scoring eight points, the 33-year-old concluded his international career with a victory, as noted by coach Luboš Bartoň.
