Czech billionaires to fund luxury skyscraper in Warsaw

Three Czech billionaires are financing the construction of the Roma Tower, a 170-meter ultra-luxury skyscraper in Warsaw, Poland. The investment group AKIPIA, which includes Michal Strnad, Tomáš Brzobohatý, and Marek Šmrha, will hold a major stake in the project. The development is estimated to cost approximately 20 billion CZK and is being co-developed with Polish real estate firms Liebrecht & wooD and BBI Development, alongside the Pro Bonum Foundation.

Construction is scheduled to begin this autumn following the acquisition of building permits and contracts with general contractors. Analysts note that Poland's receptiveness to large-scale projects and its rapid economic growth compared to the Czech Republic are key factors driving such investments.

Separately, recent Czech industrial and design showcases in Brno and Prague highlighted advancements in domestic manufacturing, including the presentation of the first Czech humanoid robot.
