Czech cities Brno and Prague roll out community grants and free pool access for vulnerable children

The Královo Pole shopping centre in Brno has launched a grant programme offering up to 200,000 CZK to projects that benefit the local community. Eligible applicants include individuals, NGOs, sports clubs and other groups with a demonstrable link to Brno. Applications are accepted from 1 June to 15 September 2026, with a public voting phase in late September and final selections in early October.

Prague continues its partnership with Trade Centre Praha to provide free swimming‑pool access to children supported by the Klokánek at‑risk children fund. Chip passes allow unrestricted entry to Aquacentrum Šutka, the Hloubětín and Strahov pools. Deputy mayor Alexandra Udženija and Trade Centre representatives highlighted the initiative as a way to give disadvantaged children regular opportunities for sport and recreation.
